Grace & Ashes is delighted to present a new collaboration with Adolfo Arenas.

"Pierrot" by Adolfo Arenas is an intricate and thought-provoking artwork that delves into the surreal and the bizarre. The figure's stretched limbs and the distorted, mask-like facial expression evoke the character of Pierrot, a classic figure from commedia dell'arte known for his expressive sadness and naiveté.

In the hands of the central figure are two cats, their bodies elongated and contorted in a manner that mirrors the surreal nature of the main subject. The cats, traditionally symbols of mystery and independence, here seem to be in a state of passive submission, further accentuating the dream-like, otherworldly atmosphere of the piece.

The background features a checkered floor, which may symbolize the duality of existence or the stage upon which the drama of life unfolds. The floor's perspective draws the eye towards the central figure, enhancing the depth and the disorienting effect of the composition.

Arenas's mastery of detail is evident in the meticulous rendering of textures and patterns, from the smoothness of the skin to the intricate designs on the chair. The stark contrast of the figure against the largely empty background focuses the viewer's attention on the emotional resonance of the pose and expression.

"Pierrot" would be a striking conversation piece in any art collection, appealing to those who appreciate the fusion of classic iconography with contemporary surrealism. It is a piece that challenges perceptions and invites viewers to explore the layers of meaning behind the facade of its subject.

Each piece of this exclusive collection is stunningly hand-signed and numbered by hand in pencil by Adolfo Arenas Alonso.

Printed on heavy weave paper and produced from a graphite drawing that took months to produce.

Large size: 75×55 cm

Technique: Gicleé iris print, embellishment on Fine Art paper 250 grams.

An amazingly shocking grotesque and erotic work of brilliant contemporary art by a yet-to-be-exploited artist who has turned down approaches from agents and galleries worldwide who want to sign this young Spanish artist... they know a genius when they see one.

I would go as far to say he is the next Lucian Freud with a bit of Banksy humour mixed in.

Each piece is signed and numbered by Adolfo, with small elemenets hand-colored.
